A player who wins all 4 majors thus completing the Grand Slam and also wins the singles Olympics Gold medal achieves this illustrious record. In the history of tennis only 4 players have managed to set this record so far. We look at their great success and the journey towards this glory.

She is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players ever. Graf won the Olympic Gold medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. That year she would also have a magical run of winning all 4 slams in the same season. Thus this great tennis player who was affectionately nicknamed as Fraulien Forehand set a unique record in tennis history. She won the Calendar Golden Slam. This achievement has never been replicated by any male or female tennis player so far. Graf was also the first ever tennis player to win the Golden Slam. In her glorious career Steffi won 22 singles Grand Slam titles. 

ANDRE AGASSI

Agassi won the Olympic Gold medal at the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta. The former world number 1 also won all the 4 Grand Slams in his illustrious career. This makes him one of the few tennis legends to have achieved the Golden slam. Andre won 8 Grand Slams in his career. This included 4 Australian Open titles, 2 trophies at the US Open and 1 each at Wimbledon and the French Open. He has also been an inspiration for a generation of tennis players like current world number 1 Novak Djokovic, whom the American coached briefly.

Rafa is regarded as one of the greatest ever players the game has seen. The Spanish won his Olympic Gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2010, he went on to complete the career Grand Slam. The Spaniard thus simultaneously achieved the rare record of completing the Golden Slam. He also has a Gold medal in the doubles category which he won in the 2016 Rio Olympics. 

Rafa has the chance to win another Olympic Gold medal in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He can thus become the only player in tennis history to have a double Golden Slam. The Spaniard has had a blessed career winning 19 slams so far among which are a dozen French Open trophies. He still looks hungry for many more majors and other trophies. 

SERENA WILLIAMS

Serena is without doubt the most successful female tennis player from the United States. The 38 year old has so far won 23 slams and is looking to break the record of 24 majors set by Margaret Court. Serena won the Olympic Gold medal in the 2010 London Olympics. She has also won all of the 4 slams multiple times. This gives her an entry into the convoluted list of Golden Slam winners in tennis. Serena has also won the doubles Gold medals 3 times along with her elder sister Venus Williams. The American is a shining example of dedication, longevity and hunger for success in the game of tennis.
